“There’s no such thing as a free lunch”. Ever heard that? I’ve heard it a lot. Fortunately for you (and me) it’s not true. Many software-writers (programmers) create programs and give them away. They do this for reasons best known to themselves. Some of this software is AT LEAST as good as some of the paid products, and some are actually better.
If you can’t afford the luxury of buying Dreamweaver or FrontPage (the two best known programs for website creation), there is Nvu (pronounced “enview). You can find it here: Nvu
If that’s not enough, there is also another excellent piece of software called Kompozer. Though based on the Nvu platform, Kompozer fixes a few little ‘bugs’ that Nvu has. You can find it here: Kompozer
They work on all the major operating systems: Win32 binary, Linux i486 binary and MacOS x ppc binary and they both include FTP capability.
So, if you don’t want to spend your hard-earned money on the more expensive software, give these a try.
