New Ideas, Old Learning Methods

Have you ever spent days, weeks or even years learning a new subject?  It could be learning how to make money on the internet, how to make money in a new business venture in the ‘real world’ or perhaps you wanted to learn how wealthy people got their money.  Whatever it is you spent some of your precious time becoming knowledgeable in, did you ever discover, towards the end of your training, that there really wasn’t anything really new about any of it?

I’ve done this many times.  I start out thinking that learning to scuba-dive is going to be the most difficult thing in the world because I’ve never done anything remoely like that before in my life.  Then, after a couple of weeks of study and practice, I realise that, although the feeling of being completely immersed in water and still breathing for over an hour is very different from holding my breath for a few seconds before surfacing, the learning process is the same.  I learned by DOING it.

There are very few people on this planet who can learn anything well by just observing it being done. There are fewer still who can learn by be told about it.  And there are almost none who can learn a subject well just by reading about it. Reading is a VERY important part of learning; it’s often where learning BEGINS. However, after this, you pretty much need to go out and, as Nike advertisements say “Just Do It!”.

Most people learn well subjects that they are interested in.  So, if you are interested in making money online, the first thing you would do is to read about how others have done it and ARE doing it.  Then, you put your toe in the water, and like me learning to scuba-dive, you DIVE IN!

Yep, I swallowed a few dozen mouthsful of sea water; and yes, I thought I was going to drown a few times, but I’ve been through the hard part and now, my lifestyle is better because of it.

Learning anything new can be tough, some things will be more difficult for you to pick-up than other things. But just realise that with constant practice, you’ll become good at it, and one day, you’ll master it.

The internet has created the BEST opportunity bar none for you to make money by starting your own home-based busines.  Never before in mankinds history has it been possible for so many people, with almost no money to be able to start a business and make money working the hours that they choose to work. Never before has this been so accessible.

The internet seems to spawn new ideas on how to do business almost every week, but just remember, that whatever it is that you might want to learn, the learning process is still the same.  Get interested in it (to give you the motivation you need to get over the tough parts), read about it……….then DO IT!

As Calvin Coolidge so rightly said “Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent.”
