As a website owner, you may sometimes want to find the best colors for your site. You can use the superb Adobe Kuler (which is free) to pick you OWN colors or, if you prefer, find colors on ANY website (there are millions out there) and copy it for use in your own site.
How?
Well, you COULD use Kuler to try and find a close match, or you can do it the easy way and get it EXACTLY right. I’ve found a super FREE piece of software called ColorPic and you can see its interface below:
With this neat little tool (about 500kb only) you can hover your cursor at ANYTHING on your computer screen and you will get, not only the exact Hexadecimal number for that color, but also a magnified view of what you’re hovering over in a preview pane below.
More Features And Benefits
Here are some other things about it:
- Easily pick any color from the screen
- No popup adverts or spy-ware, it really is free
- Colors shown in hex and decimal
- Adjust Hue, Saturation, Value, Red, Green and Blue values
- Easy to use with any other program
- Re-sizable magnification area
- Overlay a grid for quick color-picker alignment
- Use arrow keys to nudge mouse pointer for more accuracy
- Save multiple palettes of colors automatically
- WebSafe Colors and names displayed
- Point sample, 3×3 or 5×5 pixel sampling
- Adjust color with four advanced color mixers
- Edit color-picker values after selection
- Easy to use collapsible sections
- Works with ALL Browsers
- Runs on ALL Windows Systems
Why Is It Free?
Iconico, the company that gives this away, is hoping that you’ll find it so useful (which it is) that you’ll upgrade to the pro version, which I may well be doing.
This is a great little program and it’s at my favorite price!
Luke.
If this helped you, please feel free to buy me a cup of coffee.......leaded of course!!!
