If you are having problems using Wordpress 2.7’s nice new feature for installing plugins automatically, and you are receiving the error message saying:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class pclzip in /home/…/wp-admin/includes/class-pclzip.php on line 171
Here’s the fix………………..
Deactivate your OLD “Wordpress Automatic Upgrade” plugin. That’s it! You don’t need it now anyway because 2.7 and above has it as a feature.
The Number One Rule Installing Plugins For Wordpress
Only ever install ONE plugin at a time and make sure that your website works after each new install.
How did I find this out? Why, the HARD WAY of course!!!
Hope this will help some of you avoid the frustrations that I’ve experienced (as recently as Tuesday).
