Let’s face it, looking for anything on the internet can be hard work. What appears to be a five-minute search can often become wasted hours of tedious surfing. We want to make money online, and to do that you cannot waste your time. Internet marketing is about doing things automatically and more efficiently whenever possible.
Alta-Vista, Netscape, Yahoo and now Google has made finding things relatively easy. Some of these search-engines below can help you sift-out the chaff from the wheat.
How?
How do they do that? Simple really; each engine SPECIALIZES in a certain area. That way, you can rest assured that if you’re looking for a particular type of file, if you are using the correct engine, you won’t be ABLE to find the wrong kind!
Download Any Stuff
This engine uses Google in the background to pull out free mp3 songs, ebooks, software, torrents, games. Just about anything which can be downloaded free (so long as it’s listed in Google). You can also narrow down your search results by clicking on different categories it lists on the search page.
Kosmix
Kosmix is a very useful search engine which searches your query across different sites like Wikipedia, Google Image Search, Youtube, CNN and different categories like blogs, audio, video, news, pictures and displays all the results neatly organized in different boxes on a single page. A great way to do research on the net.
Docjax
This is a comprehensive document-search engine which helps you to search documents in doc, pdf, xls and ppt format. It uses Google AND Yahoo in the background to show the results. You can also preview the document before you decide to download it, which is a very handy feature.
VideoSurf
VideoSurf is an excellent search engine for finding (you guessed it) Videos! It displays videos from popular video sites like Youtube and BlipTV on one page. You can browse them visually and it also has multiple ways to refine the results.
Another good thing about this site is the face recognition technology which it uses to point out the person the video is all about. How’s that for cool!
Yahoo Glue
Very similar to Kosmix, Yahoo Glue displays results from various services on one page. Yahoo-search users might want to try this out instead of the older Yahoo interface. Hey, it’s NEW so it must be better, right!?
Pipl
Pipl (as in “People”) is easily the best people-search engine on the web. If you are searching for someone on the internet this is definitely the engine for you. It searches deep into the web to unearth every relevant information which mentions the name of that person. Try it! I’m sure you’ll agree that it is very impressive.
Tagoo
Tagoo is a media search-engine which allows you to search and play audio and video content. You can also create playlists and interact with other users of this site. It’s very much like a night-club but without the booze!
Search.io
Search.io is a tabbed search interface and can display almost every kind of search engine available in different tabs on the same page. Hence this is another tool which could prove useful if you’d like to widen your search beyond Google and take a look at what other search engines have to offer on the same query.
Freshbargains
As the name suggests, Freshbargains lets you look for great deals on the web. It assembles deals from 15 sites all of which are known for the great bargains they offer. Freshbargains can also alert you through email when a new deal is available for the product you’re looking for.
How Can You Find These?
