In part one of this post, we discussed how to find a Joint Venture partner, and how to initially approach them. Now we will go into more depth about how to persuade them to JV with you.
Once you’ve found somebody that you want to work with, show them that you really do know what you’re doing by successfully promoting THEIR products. This will definitely get their attention. Give them a link in your email to your website, so that a simple click of his mouse is all you require of him.
If you’ve won a competition for most sales of one of their products, you will most definitely have a head-start. Sometimes this is quite easy, depending on the overall success of a product. Some products simply don’t do very well, even for the big-names out there.
Also, if you know a mid-level player that you’ve promoted for and THEY know the person you want to partner with, ask them for an introduction. A simple email saying that you are good to work with and that you will do everything you say you will, would be a real boon for your case.
You may have to attend one of their workshops or seminars in person, at which time you can go and introduce yourself as a fan, or at least let them know that you aspire to being like them. You might also offer to do some free work for them on their next product launch. Actually doing this will surely get you a shoe-in as a possible JV partner for YOUR next product launch.
Don’t be afraid to network; business all over the world is really about networking with people and this is no different in the internet-marketing world. Often is best to aim for a Joint Venture partner who isn’t yet really established as a big name. You can often find these by seeing who came in second or third or maybe tenth in one of the affiliate contests that marketers often run.
These people will one day be one of the big names in the Internet Marketing world. Partner with them while you still can, because one day they may be beyond your reach. You can also find these kinds of people in internet marketing forums. These forums are easily found by using a search-engine and simply typing ‘internet marketing forums’.
If you don’t have ANY list that you can share, you can offer other services to the potential JV partner. You can write sales-copy for them, or help create some graphics. Perhaps you can create the website for one of her new products, or write some emails for the launch of her next product. Try to offer services that are seen to be of about equal value. Offer anything that will help them save time, save money, save effort or make them money.
Certainly, you must offer them a good percentage of the sales, as much as 100%! Yes, really. Anything between 80% of sales and 100%, because you are trying to establish yourself, and to do this, you must be willing to pay the price. After all, once somebody has purchased from you, THEY are now one of YOUR customers and they are on YOUR list.
Keep in mind at all times that you should go into EVERY joint venture partnership with more than profits in mind. You should view them as the beginning of a long and successful business partnership and possibly a lasting friendship.
